Comedian-actor Jay Mohr hosts the first full-scale rock concert for the non-profit Jail Guitar Doors featuring its co-founders, guitarist-composer Wayne Kramer of the Detroit ’70s rock band MC5 and punk-protest rocker Billy Bragg. Also on this jam-packed bill are singer-songwriter Dave Alvin (formerly of the Blasters), Jill Sobule (“I Kissed a Girl”), Jason Heath & the Greedy Souls, Franc Foster’s Melting Pot and several promised surprise guests. Jail Guitar Doors gets its moniker from the song of the same name by the Clash, which happens to delve into Wayne Kramer’s famed drug troubles and ’70s-era incarceration. The organization aims to help rehabilitate current prison inmates by providing them with musical instruments and other support.
