On Friday, October, 25 Crowning Glory, a fundraising Gala in support of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choirs artistic and outreach programming efforts will take place at Casa Loma. The event will relive the coronation of Queen Elizabeth ll (1953) through a spectacular multimedia presentation, narrated by Toronto historian and author Hugh Brewster. Distinguished actors Christopher Newton and Brigitte Robinson will read excerpts from the letters of the royal family and famous diarists of the day. Guests will be dressed in the fashionable attire of the era while they, sip on cocktails and dine on a feast inspired by the actual menu of the Savoy Hotels Coronation Ball. Members of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and other notable singers will conclude the evening with songs reminiscent of the times.
