Dates: November 28, 2013 to November 28, 2013
Location: Innis Town Hall Theatre, Innis College U of T Downtown Campus
Stefanie Teitelman is an alumnus of the University of Toronto who has organize a crustal itinerary sensitive event that will be screening the documentary film More Than Honey as a platform for discussing the issue of neonics (pesticides that are killing the bees) and maximizing petition signatures before its December 12th deadline. I am very passionate on doing something many of those in the beekeeping communities have tried to do independently and I think this would be a great opportunity for the Toronto beekeeping community to unite on a very important issue in the context of an amazing event. Here are the tentative event details, which will be confirmed shortly: Date: November 28th Time: 6-9pm Location: Innis College theatre at U of T Details: Screen the film More Than Honey, sign neonic petition, have guest speakers share their experiences, and offer tabling space. The event would be open to the public. Admission Fee: $12/person U of T B.E.E.S. has agreed to partner on this event by offering printing services, contacts, discounted theatre locations, volunteers, and event promotion services; however, funding on our behalf is an issue because of the short turn around time. Because Stefanie would be paying out of pocket for this event (approximately $560 for theatre booking and screening rights), I recommended that an admission fee be charged at the door and we discussed the possibility of selling raffle tickets for a beekeeping basket composed of donated items. Thank you in advance for your time. I wish you all a bee-lightful weekend! Bee-well, Stefanie Teitelman
