Firemen: Forbidden Love Sparks Trouble
Atwater Village Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)

The dramatic match is lit in the opening scene of Tommy Smith’s new play Firemen, as a sullen middle-schooler serves detention for writing an explicit mash note to the school’s office secretary. Echo Theater’s world-premiere production has won praise for its cast and director Chris Fields, as well as the story itself, which ArtsBeatLA says, “commingles deep dysfunction and dark humor.”
