Salomé is a scandalous tale of Biblical proportions, centuries old, yet still possessing all its ability to strike a nerve with audiences. Set in Biblical times, this erotically charged story centers on a tangled triangle: the prophet Jokanaan, a lecherous King Herod and the monarch’s pathologically seductive stepdaughter, Salome. When Herod pleads with Salome to dance for him to satisfy his lust, he offers her anything in his power to give in return. Salome dances the seductive Dance of the Seven Veils, and demands the head of Jokanaan in return.
