Music Ensemble of Los Angeles: Mendelssohn & More

This adaptable ensemble boasts some of the best orchestral and studio musicians in the L.A. area, who’ve taken on everything from a full-stage production of Stravinsky’s L’histoire du soldat to works for double wind quartet. In this concert, harpist Ellie Choate and Joseph Stone, who plays the oboe and English horn, perform the world premiere of a piece for their instruments and strings by the former El Camino College Dean of fine Arts Philip Westin. Also on the program are string pieces by Wassenaer and Mendelssohn.
