Based on interviews conducted with women from all over the world, Eve Ensler’s award-winning play The Vagina Monologues is a hilarious and deeply poignant collection of stories that gives voice to a chorus of common experiences and feelings once considered taboo. The popular show, helmed by a rotating cast of 26 actresses who will perform different monologues each night, manages to be feminist without being man-hating — entertaining without being trite — and political without being offensive. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Peace Over Violence, a non-profit benefiting battered women and children in Los Angeles.
