Bronx native Alynda Lee Segarra leads the group with smoky vocal stylings that seem wise beyond her 26 years. At age 17, the Bronx native left home to hitch cross-country, landing in New Orleans where she fell in love with the city and a musical culture grounded in deeply soulful traditional influences. Hurray For The Riff Raff’s latest album, Small Town Heroes, is a reflection of her reverence for the city. As part of the GRAMMY Museum’s ongoing Americana music program, the band takes the stage to discuss their work and play a special musical performance.
