Casa 0101 Theater (Los Angeles, CA)
The Latino experience in Los Angeles is chronicled in two funny and thought-provoking solo shows at Casa 0101 Theater. David Valdez returns with his one-man show, Scarred for Life: A Tale of a Mexican-American Trying to Get Out of East L.A. Valdez tells the story of his comedic misadventures growing up in an immigrant family and heading off to college at an Ivy League school. In the second show, acclaimed writer Rick Najera (In Living Color, MADtv) brings his humorous memoir, Almost White: Forced Confessions of a Latino in Hollywood, to the stage. Revisiting his childhood, career and new family life, Najera’s story is about the 5 Ls: Latinos, life, love, laughter and la familia. Each show is presented on alternating weeks.
