Saban Theatre (Beverly Hills, CA)
After surfing to America on the British New Wave, The Fixx scored a series of hits in the ’80s with its catchy, keyboard-driven pop, including “One Thing Leads to Another,” “Red Skies,” “Saved by Zero” and “Stand or Fall.” Entering into the ’90s and ’00s, the band continued to channel its socially-conscious message into a series of fresh and challenging albums. Now, following the release of 2012’s Beautiful Friction, Jamie West-Oram (guitar), Rupert Greenall (synth), Dan K. Brown (bass), Adam Woods (percussion) and Cy Curnin (vocals) have hit the road. They’re paired with another New Wave powerhouse band, Dramarama. Fronted by singer-songwriter John Easdale, they’re known for successful singles like “Anything, Anything (I’ll Give You),” “I Wish I Was Your Mother” and “Haven’t Got a Clue.”
