Steve Martin’s The Underpants: A Naughty, Fun Farce
Morgan-Wixson Theatre (Santa Monica, CA)

Actor/comedian Steve Martin’s contemporary adaptation of the classic comedy The Underpants is a laugh-out-loud satire on bourgeois manners and customs that reveals 1910 to be just as naughty as today. When stuffed-shirt government clerk Theo’s young wife accidentally has her panties fall down in public, Theo fears a scandal and financial ruin and the lavish amount of male attention his wife suddenly receives. The incident attracts two suitors wanting rent the spare room in the couple’s flat. Neither Theo nor his wife are prepared for the slew of surprises the two tenants bring with them.
