For a piece entitled FEED Me, Barbara T. Smith once sat naked in a museum bathroom with incense, body oils, shawls, poetry, music and a mattress covered with an oriental rug. A recorded chant instructed visitors to “feed” her, but providing no further instruction. Now, more than 40 years later, Smith “sets the record straight” on this pioneering work in What You Need to Know.
