When Sebastian and Bernadette’s mother is killed by an errant shower head, the siblings reunite at her funeral after years apart. Their grief takes different forms — Bernadette is a weepy mess, Sebastian quits therapy and stars corresponding with a convicted murderer. Meanwhile, Bernadette’s husband decides to quit his dentistry practice and become an artist and Sebastian’s therapist has a breakdown over losing her last patient. In Raised In Captivity, by playwright Nicky Silver (Pterodactyls, The Lyons), you’ll watch as each of the character’s lives crumble and they’re forced to reveal the true depths of their humanity.
