House of Blues on the Sunset Strip (West Hollywood, CA)
No, that isn’t the real Bocephus on stage, but you’d be forgiven for thinking it was. Tribute band All My Rowdy Friends’ lead vocalist Frank Morrow is a Hank Williams Jr. look- and sound-alike, and together with his fellow musicians, he does a remarkable job bringing the singer’s mix of country, rock and blues to life on stage. Getting creative with spoons and washboards, All My Rowdy Friends (a reference to one of Williams’ songs) perform hits like “Born to Boogie,” “There’s a Tear in My Beer,” “If the South Woulda Won,” “A Country Boy Can Survive,” “My Name is Bocephus” and more from Williams and other noteworthy country and rock performers. The result is a high-energy show that would make the music legend proud. Country-rocker Ben Dukes will open the show.
