Reel to Reel: "Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton"

Founded as an underground hip-hop label in 1996, Stones Throw Records has grown into not only into a top-tier tastemaker for rap releases but also as a cool home for left-of-center sounds in soul, electro and disco. The film Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton explores the founding of the label by world-renowned DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, and the careers built by its roster of stars. Featuring rare concert footage, archival material, home video and in-depth interviews with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Madlib, Common and more, this documentary shines a light on one of the most influential labels in music. After the screening, director Jeff Broadway and Peanut Butter Wolf will discuss the making of the film.
