Preservation Hall Jazz Band With The Dustbowl Revival

The swingin’ sounds of the French Quarter come to Los Angeles as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band hits the stage. The New Orleans jazz combo recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, and although the members have changed since it began, the music and skill with which it’s played have remained the same. Sounding better than ever, Preservation Hall recently played the Grammy Awards alongside The Black Keys and Dr. John, and celebrated its anniversary with such luminaries as Allen Toussaint and Steve Earle with a sold-out crowd at Carnegie Hall. The group has been keeping the spirit of America’s art form alive from the Hollywood Bowl to Lincoln Center and around the world, recently performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Sharing the stage with Preservation Hall is Venice’s own The Dust Bowl Revival. With a raucous mashup of old-school bluegrass, gospel, jug band, swamp blues and the hot swing of the 1930s, the group was named the “Best Live Band in L.A.” by LA Weekly.
