Hollywood Bowl (Hollywood, CA)
One of the most recognizable pieces in classical music, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons captures the spirit of the changing seasons, from sunshine to thunderstorms. Bringing this masterwork to the Hollywood Bowl stage is conductor Nicholas McGegan, along with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and principal concertmaster Martin Chalifour. Also on the evening’s program are Piazzolla’s tango-flavored Four Seasons of Buenos Aires and Handel’s glorious Water Music Suite. Called “one of the finest baroque conductors of his generation” by The Independent of London, Nicholas McGegan is known for his joyful approach to period music. He has been music director of Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra for 27 years and was artistic director of the Göttingen International Handel Festival for 20 years.
