Freakier than Frankenstein, weirder than Wolfman, more deadly than Dracula, Cthulhu is the monster other monsters have nightmares about. The dark masterpiece of H.P. Lovecraft, whom Stephen King calls “the greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale,” Cthulhu moves from page to stage in the Visceral Company’s new adaptation of The Call of Cthulhu. Adapted and performed by Drama Desk nominee Frank Blocker, the show features nine characters, all played expertly by Blocker. Though set across decades, each character finds themselves ensnared in the same mystery of the alien god Cthulhu, the cult that worships him … and the doomsday his awakening will bring. Produced by the team behind last year’s sold-out Lovecraft: Nightmare Suite, The Call of Cthulhu will take audiences to a place where “even death may die.”
