Museum of Latin American Art (Long Beach, CA)

"La Muerte Vive"

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with a special performance of La Muerte Vive, a one-of-a-kind combination of rock opera and cabaret with a Latin flavor. Magical giant puppets, eye-popping art and papier-mâché skulls come alive to capture a story of life and death. Join internationally touring recording artist Santos De Los Angeles and the “Mexican Spitfire of Burlesque,” Ruby Champagne, for this explosion of color, culture, fiery music and sultry dancing. La Muerte Vive was conceived by Tony Dominguez, a Hollywood prop designer who was named one of Los Angeles’ Most Interesting People in 2013 by LA Weekly. There will also be a Dia de los Muertos marketplace, calavera face painting, a photo booth and more.
