In The Plot to Overthrow Christmas, a group of ruthless baddies gets together to ruin the yuletide cheer. These rogues include the Devil, Mephistopheles, Ivan the Terrible and slave owner Simon Legree, who decide Roman emperor Nero must assassinate Santa with a gun. What follows is a story, told entirely in rhyme, with a message unlike any other Christmas tale you’ve ever known. Originally performed on the radio in 1938, this play features stirring violin music played by Nero himself.
