Led by virtuoso French-Canadian violinist Angèle Dubeau and a pianist, the all-female string ensemble La Pietà performs selections from Dubeau’s latest hit album, along with works by modernist composer Philip Glass and others. Returning to L.A.’s Theatre Raymond Kabbaz for the first time since ’09, Dubeau is a well-known cultural figure in Canada and a best-selling recording artist, whose 38th contemporary classical disc, Blanc, features the work of film composers like Ennio Morricone and Ryuichi Sakamoto, as well as jazz and folk artists like Dave Brubeck and Cat Stevens. Her tight-knit chamber orchestra is made up of nine of their country’s finest musicians.
