Years ago, two struggling comedians — a man and a woman — met in New York City, having little idea of how big they both would become. She would go to write on Seinfeld, SNL, the Oscars, Modern Family and star in her own comedy specials for Showtime, HBO and Comedy Central. He would co-create and star in Mad About You, while starring in a series of big screen success from Diner, Aliens and Beverly Hills Cop right up through two recent Sundance winners (Life After Beth, Whiplash). Their names? Carol Leifer and Paul Reiser, of course. Now Leifer, who has a new book (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Crying), and Reiser, who has a couple new series (Steven Soderbergh’s Red Oaks and Married on FX) sit down for an An Evening Of Comedy And Conversation at the American Jewish University.
