The Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center (Santa Monica, CA)
From the old world nostalgia of The Godfather‘s “Love Theme” to that iconic whistle melody from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, film scores have arguably produced some of the most beloved and well-known orchestral works of the latter half of the 20th century. Now Golden Globe-winning conductor and composer Andrea Morricone — son of legendary “spaghetti western” composer Ennio Morricone — leads the Amor Symphonic Orchestra in this film special lovers’ concert at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. Cinematic Visions highlights the maestro’s extreme versatility as one of the cinema’s great composers who’s crafted timeless works across a wide variety of genres. The program includes new arrangements of some of cinema’s most beloved scores, from Henry Mancini’s playful melody for The Pink Panther to the Suite From Cinema Paradiso — composed by both Andrea and Ennio Morricone — and beyond.
