Sleeping Beauty Dreams: Fairy Tale Re-Imagined Through Puppetry
Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University (Malibu, CA)

Marionetas de la Esquina is a puppet theater company from Mexico that’s been using colorful puppets, music and humor to entertain children and adults for 40 years. Now they bring to Smothers Theatre their contemporary take on the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty. Reimagined by Amaranta Leyva, the famous princess is depicted as a modern-day overprotected daughter looking for a way to break free of her castle walls so she can embark on a search for true love — and her true self.
