Whiplash‘s Chris Mulkey in Classic Family Saga Leaving Home

Although you might not know him by name, you’ve seen actor Chris Mulkey in a million things, from Captain Phillips to Friday Night Lights to Twin Peaks. He’s one of those hardworking supporting actors that turns up, knocks a couple scenes out of the park and moves on to the next role. Now, here’s your chance to see this magnetic actor shine in a starring role on stage in the landmark Canadian play Leaving Home by David French. The first play in the Mercer family series, Leaving Home centers on an immigrant family who left their home in Newfoundland to build a new life during the changing times of the ’50s. Funny and powerful, this autobiographical play was included in the Oxford Dictionary of Theatre‘s “1,000 Essential Plays in the English Language.” Karen Landry (Peaceful Warrior, St. Elsewhere) co-stars in this Ruskin Group Theatre production.
