Chadwick Boseman steps out of one icon’s shoes (having played Jackie Robinson in 42) and into another’s, starring as the Godfather of Soul. Based on the incredible life story of the hardest working man in show business, the film is a fearless look inside Brown’s music, moves and moods. The timeline starts with his impoverished childhood and charts his evolution into one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Directed by Tate Taylor of The Help fame, Get On Up features a cast that boasts a treasure trove of trophies, including Tony-winner Viola Davis, Oscar- and Golden Globe-winner Octavia Spencer and Grammy-winning R&B diva Jill Scott.
