A finalist for the Blues Foundation’s prize for best blues album of 2013, Dave Widow combines soulful blues with R&B, funk and rock for a sound that harkens back to classic American roots rock — but with a contemporary twist. Widow has assembled a talented crew of session all-stars — including drummer James Gadson and bassist Hutch Hutchinson — to create his band the Line Up, delivering a soulful helping of guitar-driven blues to venues throughout L.A. and beyond. This show at the Grand Annex features special guest Bernie Pearl, a top blues musician and an original “go-to” sideman at the old Ash Grove in Hollywood.
