Screening of Robert Altman’s Nashville, Plus Book Signing

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of its release, Nashville, one of director Robert Altman’s most acclaimed and popular films, screens at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. As an added treat, Altman’s widow, Kathryn, will introduce the film and sign her new book, Altman, in the lobby prior to the screening. Nashville is a sprawling, funny, poignant and exhilarating snapshot of people in the country music industry. It features a star-studded cast of people ranging from Lily Tomlin and Keith Carradine to Ned Beatty, Karen Black, Ronee Blakely and Scott Glenn. It also showcases an hour of music numbers, performed by the actors themselves. It was nominated for several Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actress (for both Tomlin and Blakely). Carradine received an Oscar for Best Original Song for his number “I’m Easy.”
