Sound of Dragon on Tour
An international collaborative project with musicians from Vancouver, Taiwan, and Toronto, Sound of Dragon on Tour features the Ontario debut of the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra’s VICO presenting a diverse sampling the best music from Vancouvers Sound of Dragon Music Festival.
An ensemble made up of players from the VICO and Taiwans Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra will present unique interpretations of folk music as well as original works influenced by Indian, Klezmer, Persian, Chinese, Taiwanese, and even Beatles music! Joining the ensemble is Toronto pipa virtuoso Wen Zhao. Featured is the Toronto premiere of John Oliver’s Eagle Flies to Mountain for cross-cultural instrumentation.
