Shakespeare’s most far out fantasy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, gets even groovier in Summer Dreamin’ The 60’s Shakespeare Musical. Setting this most romantic of romantic comedies in the free lovin’ world of the late ’60s Venice Beach, Summer Dreamin’ twists and tie-dyes this tale of four young lovers caught in a quarrel between the king and queen of the faeries, while staying true to the tale’s unfading magic and madness. So join Puck, Titania, Oberon and the rest of Shakespeare’s cast of weird and wonderful characters in this new production from the Pasadena Civic Ballet Musical Theatre Ensemble.
