French Farce The Heir Apparent Performed in Rhyming Verse

International City Theatre at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center (Long Beach, CA)

"The Heir Apparent"

International City Theatre presents the Los Angeles premiere of the hilarious French farce The Heir Apparent, written by Broadway playwright David Ives (Venus in Fur). An adaptation of Jean-François Regnard’s 1708 masterpiece, The Heir Apparent tells the story of Eraste, who desperately wants to marry Isabelle. To do so, he must secure an inheritance from his miserable old uncle Geronte, who has bequeathed his money to distant relatives. It will be up to Eraste’s resourceful servant Crispin to save the day using disguises and his quick wits. This amusing comedy of mistaken identity will be performed entirely in rhyming verse at the International City Theatre at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.
