This Is A Man’s World is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story told through writer-performer, Sal Lopez’s considerable theatrical talents. Music and memory swirl as Lopez relives the lessons that shaped his life — the scent of a pirul tree in Mexico, the thrill of young love, the effects of the Watts Riots and the birth of his son. This candid nostalgic spree explores how we define manhood and celebrates a masculinity rooted in strength of character. Lopez is a founding member of the Latino Theater Company, and has starred in a number of their critically acclaimed, as well as in films such as Full Metal Jacket and American Me. Now he brings his moving one-man production to the Los Angeles Theatre Center.
