With four Brit Award nominations, multiple chart-topping albums and hugely successful singles like “Babylon,” “This Year’s Love,” “Sail Away” and “Please Forgive Me,” Gray’s definitely made his mark as a musical influencer — some of which clearly rubbed off on this show’s other exciting act, the folk-soul troubadour Amos Lee. A master of using deceptively simple-sounding lyrics and melodies to evoke complex emotions, Lee writes new songs that sound like old classics. His honeyed voice and rustic tunes have shared the stage with the likes of Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and now, the great David Gray at this exciting Hollywood Bowl show.
