In between are whole oceans of sound that break over the audience with awesome drama and terrific power. A cantata for chorus and orchestra that defines “masterwork,” Carmina Burana sings of lust, flirtation, passion and the unwavering power of destiny. Relax under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl when the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Gustavo Dudamel conducts Orff’s cantata for his very first time.
