Noted Filmmaker Patricio Guzman introduces his film, The Pinochet Case, at a screening Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3:45 p.m.. The event, sponsored by Casa Salvador Allende marks the 42nd anniversary of the coup, Sept. 11, 1973, that crushed the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende. The film follows efforts by a Spanish prosecutor and magistrate to strip Augusto Pinochet of diplomatic immunity and charge him under international law for the political murders and torture under his regime. Tickets: $10. Proceeds go to the Casa Salvador Allende scholarship fund. The NY Times describes the film as “eloquent, meticulously structured” and “with the stomach-knotting suspense of a legal thriller.”
