DED!: A Day of the Dead Tribute With Mimes, Music, Puppets & More

Whimsically billed as “theater for the living, performed by the dead,” DED! is an original all-ages theater show inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) tradition. The holiday is devoted to remembering loved ones who’ve passed and, in keeping with that tone, DED! is more sentimental than scary. This “story that begins at the end” is presented as a unique multimedia experience that combines performing arts disciplines such as clowning, mime, live music, puppetry and video art. DED! was created by a small group of interdisciplinary L.A. artists who plan to celebrate this festive, reverent holiday throughout October at the Matrix Theatre on Melrose.
