Valley Performing Arts Center may only a mile and half away from Our Lady of Lourdes Church where mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung used to sing in the choir every Sunday… but what a journey she has taken to the Great Hall stage! Since her student days at CSUN, DeYoung has gone on to win three Grammy Awards and earn widespread acclaims as one of the most exciting classical vocalists of her generation. A favorite of leading conductors, music critics and millions of music lovers worldwide, DeYoung performs and records with many of the world’s top orchestras and operas. Now, after playing the Met, the Berlin State Opera, the Opéra National de Paris and La Scala in Milan, DeYoung returns home to Northridge for a thrilling program of Strauss, de Falla, Weill and many others.
