Faded Film Star Rallies the Troops in Swingtime Canteen

Ernest Borgnine Theater (Long Beach, CA)

"Swingtime Canteen"

It’s 1944 and film star Marian Ames is being let go from MGM after four flop movies. But it’s no time for tears — World War II is going strong and Marian, still glamorous, is heading to London with several of her girlfriends to entertain the troops. Marian and her movie stand-in Jo, her niece Katie, leggy chorine Lilly and riveter Topeka sing over 30 classic vintage songs of the era, including “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive,” “Sing Sing Sing,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” a 12-song Andrews Sisters medley and more. Celebrate women and song during the hilarious, heartwarming Swingtime Canteen at the Ernest Borgnine Theater in Long Beach.
