Set against the backdrop of the Wild West, Rio Hondo tells the epic tale of a lone stranger with a shadowy, haunted past, returning to Hondo to face down his demons and do battle with a notorious desperado and a band of ruthless of assassins working for the railroad. In the midst of all this mayhem, he must also protect a beautiful widow and her land from the unceasing strains of progress and change. Built upon these familiar western tentpoles, this Theatre of Note production infuses iconic scenarios with humorous twists — including the world’s greatest blind female gunfighter and young gunslingers with six-shooter envy. Catch this hearty helping of comic theatre in Los Angeles courtesy of playwright Bill Robens, known for his lampoons of The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno.
