Artist Matti McLean is hosting a one-night paint gala event at Rose Will Gallery, 1630 Dundas West at 8pm entitled “Reclaimed Destiny” with pieces ranging from $100-$350.
Reclaimed Destiny is an art initiative started by Matti McLean that aims to breathe new life into old artworks. After finding himself with an abundance of old canvases as a result of his teaching job with Paint Nite Toronto, Matti began to play with adding new elements into the paintings to see how it changes the entire picture. This resulted in radical transformations of old pieces into completely new works of art. So far this initiative has garnered over 60 new works, which are to be displayed at Rose Will Gallery. The night will also feature a showing of the Human Canvas Initiative and will also feature a showing of the film “Distance” which is set to premiere in January. In addition Matti will be creating new art works throughout the night with prices ranging from $100-$300.
