Mindfulness Practice and Silent Walk @ High Park

Cost: Free :

We all know that any amount of time spent in the woods has the ability to refresh and renew us at our deepest level. Mindfulness practice in the woods is a way of deepening and appreciating the experience even further.

There will not be much instruction during our practice. No previous experience with meditation is necessary. This is an opportunity to spend some time sharing silence with others and the chance to discuss our personal practice. This will be a 2 hour gathering. We'll meet at the green picnic tables on the right hand side, just as you enter the park from Bloor and High Park Ave.

1. We'll begin by sitting for 5 minutes.

2. 15 minutes for some brief introductions.

3. Sit for another 5 minutes.

4. 15 minute silent walk along Grenadier Pond.

5. 10 minutes of mindful movement and stretching.

6. 10 minute seated meditation.

7. 15 minutes of discussion.

8. 15 minutes silent walk back to picnic tables.

9. 10 minute meditation.

10. Question and Answer.

For the seated portions of the practice we'll be sitting on the grass. You're welcome to bring a blanket to sit on. There will be different groups using different trails paved and unpaved so if you use a wheelchair or assistive device, there shouldn't be a problem. This event is family friendly and kids big and small are welcome. We will be there rain or shine.
