In this workshop, inspired by Ulla von Brandenburg’s film It Has a Golden Sun and an Elderly Grey Moon (2016), we will collaboratively write a theatrical play without dialogue. After a short investigation into the qualities of sound and silence, we will create sound-producing instruments with plastic, metal, wood and re-purposed materials. We will then compose a musical score for our play using our new instruments. A performance of our play will be recorded, available for participants to access digitally, after which participants will take their instruments home.
