USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Gautham Menon (director of films like Rehna Hain Tere Dil Mein and Ekk Deewana Tha) had announced his next directorial venture Assi Nabey Poore Sau with Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha in lead roles. The film, a trilingual with also Tamil and Telugu versions, was being produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
However, now the Hindi version has been put on the back-burner despite 75% of the film being shot. What's more, producers Viacom 18 have disassociated themselves from the project and are now producing only the Telugu and Tamil versions which stars Nani and Jiiva respectively along with Samantha. Apparently, Viacom was upset with Menon over a false promise made by him that A.R.Rahman would be composing the music for the film. Rahman hadn't given any such green signal to the project. There's also buzz that the Hindi version has been put on hold since Menon's last Hindi release Ekk Deewana Tha didn't fare well at the B.O.
Whatever be the reason, Assi Nabey Poore Sau finds itself in a state of limbo as of now.
