“At the time this was announced, I think a lot of people thought it was science fiction,” said Darren Cox, the general manager for Nissan in Europe. “We didn’t even have a rule book to look at. It was just, ‘How could you do this: Start with a blank sheet of paper and find the fastest way to go around a race circuit?’ And this is the answer.”
“This car has half the power of the other cars, but because it doesn’t have wings like the other cars, it is very efficient,” he added. “This car is basically one wing; the whole car is a wing.”
“We’re not here to challenge Audi or Toyota,” said Panoz, whose company constructed the car. “We don’t want to get in the way of anybody’s race. What we are here for is to show that with a bit of lateral thinking, the future of motor sport can look very different and be far more relevant and sustainable.”
“Efficiency is something we need to achieve,” he said. “Not just for the future of our sport to keep it relevant, but motor sport is the best way to develop technologies, and if we can develop that, then hopefully it will get into road cars.”

Damn that Ferrari was freaking stupcomment_ID. Why dcomment_ID they not learn from the 2 stupcomment_ID inccomment_IDents involving amateur Ferraris last year??? Toyota’s chances are now trimmed down.
