Releasing singles isn't really a trend in Bollywood. Though out there in West artists do release just a single song of theirs in a CD, an experiment like this has seen only an on and off emergence. Now OMG Oh My God! tries that with composer Himesh Reshammiya and lyricist Shabbir Ahmed coming together for a single. The results are good that only makes one feel if added songs would have only benefited the album further.

MUSIC

The song in question is 'Go Go Govinda' which has the usual suspect Mika Singh taking the honours for this full-on 'masti' and 'mazaa' track. The song has been all over the entertainment channels and for the right reasons too. With addictive beats doing the trick and pace being just perfect for a celebration number, 'Go Go Govinda' could have been one of those countless 'Govinda' songs if not for Shreya Ghoshal. She brings just the right spunk in this highly energetic number and makes it her own despite Mika's presence in the song.

Also, it is good to see Himesh Reshammiya presenting something different from what is otherwise expected from him in regular romantic outings. He ensures that not just is the composition lively, the arrangements too compliment it well to ensure that the song is addictive in a single listening itself. Rest is taken care by Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhudheva who do well in inviting you to the floors with the kind of dance moves that keep you interested right through the proceedings. Later the 'reprise' version is an added bonus with newcomer Aman Trikha bringing a different flavour with his voice and doing good justice.

OVERALL

OMG – Oh My God! has just one song but it is good enough to assure a place for itself into charts. With an addictive rhythm to it, the song has in it to be a favourite in the ring-tone circuit as well.
