"Physical Belongings" portrays a year of creative investigations in cultural issues by Antonio Lennert and Teresa Tam. Using the discipline of graphic design as a point of reference for their research, they present objects, printed matter, photography, audio and video projections to create an experiential installation. While using different approaches to express their individual points of view on a particular cultural subject, their projects share a cultural hybridity that intersects in the Canadian context. Teresa proposes an investigation on the rituals of eating through the creation of artifacts used within this practice. In examining longing in Brazilian cultural identity, Antonio uses a site as a metaphor to explore the condition of self-exile. As their enduring journey through university comes to an end, they would like to share their outcomes with you through "Physical Belongings." Please join them on Friday, April 20th at 6pm to discover how their cross-cultural perspectives have inspired their research and impacted their practices. The exhibit runs from April 18 until April 20 at the OCADU Student Gallery.
