The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents a 50th anniversary screening of the Oscar-winning film To Kill a Mockingbird at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Now digitally restored, the classic 1962 film features Gregory Peck as Depression-era lawyer Atticus Finch, who struggles against racial prejudice in the rural South as he tries to exonerate a black man falsely accused of rape. Much of the story derives from the perspective of Finch’s children, Jem and Scout, who witness the moral and societal issues that plague their town. Peck earned his only Oscar for his role in the film that would come to define his career, and Robert Duvall made his film debut as the mysterious Boo Radley. Learn more…
