Mosaic’s Bollywood personality and headliner for this year is none other than well-renowned playback singing sensation, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan (aka ROCKSTAR USTAD).

This amazing versatile virtuoso shot to stardom with the Bollywood going crowd several years ago with his hit song ‘Mitwa’ in ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’. From there onwards he has sung several songs for many movies including ‘Patiala House’ and ‘Ra.One’. He will be performing Saturday Aug 18 at 7.45 pm .

Besides this great personality, on Friday 17 at 8 pm a Brooklyn based band, Red Baraat, will perform a high –octane ménage a trios combining brass, bhangra and baraat! Come prepared with your dancing shoes as this multi-piece band totally blows you away with their horns and drums!

On Sunday 19 at 5.45 pm closing the festival will be Stereo Nation from the UK oozing R’n’B, Soul, Dance & Bollywood! Taz has an umpteen number of hits under his belt with his debut album ‘Hit the Deck’ staying at no.1 for thirty six weeks! He has also recorded many songs for Bollywood movies. Come see him set Celebration Square on fire with his dance numbers!

A local Toronto pop/rock group Swaras (literally 7 notes of the scale) heavily influenced by Rockstar Ustad, Kishore Kumar, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd to name a few will be the opening act for Shafqat Amanat Ali on Saturday 18 at 7 pm.

There will be several more music and dance line-ups including Shiamak Davar’s Toronto dance team, a Nachange Saari Raat final dance competition, Atul Ahuja, Rahul Sathu, Neeti dream and dance team, dhol action, Desi’s Rock artists Lickpenny Loafer, Mandippal, Singh Bandana Singh amongst many, folk dances and much more.

Transcending cultural borders, Mosaic also offers a ‘Rock the Coliseum’ component where several indie rock bands including Elos Arma, Triple or Nothing, Vices live in 3D, and Space Monster, to name a few, will literally rock the scene!

This year there will also be colours of China dance and music presented by the Mississauga Chinese Art Organisation.
