The showpiece of the evening is the triumphant 1812 Overture, famous for its climactic volley of cannons and ringing chimes. At the Bowl, the cannons will be accompanied by a brilliant pyrotechnic display, making for a dramatic and powerful conclusion to the event. The LA Phil will also play pieces from Tchaikovsky’s famous ballets Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, with dancers from American Ballet Theatre. Los Angeles Children’s Chorus and the USC Trojan Marching Band will also join in the festivities.
