Whitby man John Haylock faces sexual offences including luring

Members of the DRP Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) have arrested and charged a Whitby man yesterday following their recent investigation with sexual offences including Luring. 

On Monday, July 8, 2013, following an investigation into recent allegations from a young female victim, members of ICE arrested the accused without incident.

John Haylock, Jr, age 22 of Fieldnest Crescent in Whitby is charged with Sexual Assault; Sexual Interference and Luring. The accused was held for a bail hearing. 

It is alleged the accused has been very active on social media by contacting young females in Durham Region. Investigators are requesting anyone who has had inappropriate contact with the accused to contact police. The accused has been known to use the following profile names: Jr Ryder; John Racer; Jr Rider or Jr Racer.

Parents and guardians are reminded to monitor their children’s use of computers, cellular telephones, iPods, iPads and any other devices that can access social media sites on a regular basis and ensure they know who their children are talking to online.
